About This Guide

VoteATL is a brand of the Center for Civic Innovation that serves to educate and build the awareness of Atliens of the electoral process and ecosystem for each person to have the tools to become engaged in voting and beyond. VoteATL began ahead of the 2017 Atlanta municipal elections. For the 2021 elections, VoteATL evolved into VoteATL Collective. This Collective brings together the Center for Civic Innovation (CCI), Community Movement Builders (CMB), the Ke’nekt, and Blue In Green Consulting.

The Vote ATL Voters Guide is created with users in mind, ranging from election-curious, moving people beyond voting, and educating on critical issues to make Atlanta more equitable. Four organizations, CCI, CMB, The Ke'nekt, and Blue in Green Consulting, believe that the 2021 Election is more than about voting. Raising awareness and understanding of how the electoral process works, build civic connections and develop collaborative goals to influence what happens in the City. The Guide is a resource to walk you through everything you need to know about the upcoming election. The content includes information on new voting laws, how to register and verify one's registration, how someone in the carceral system may vote, and more. We, The Collective, hope this voter guide makes you feel confident as you consider the issues, candidates for Mayor, City Council President, City Council Member, and School Board, and the needs of your community. In addition, we hope that this Guide will assist you in thinking through how to be more civically engaged whether you were born at Grady Hospital or have only recently moved to Atlanta. For up-to-date information, visit voteatl.org.

VoteATL prioritizes residents’ concerns and provides accessible, digestible information about the electoral process, understanding how local government runs, leadership positions, and ways Atliens may become involved in their respective neighborhoods. Black and Brown residents identified issues, low-wage earning households, transit-dependent folks, women, trans, and gender non-conforming neighbors through community-led engagement. The goal is to acknowledge their expressed community concerns.

  • Prioritize specific neighborhoods and neighbors on the South and West sides
  • Demand redress endured by systemic harm
  • Hold accountable past, current, and future leaders
