There will be a special election held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 — concurrent with the presidential election — to fill the vacant Post 3 seat on the Atlanta City Council.

Monday, October 7: Voter registration deadline
October 15–November 1: Early voting (DeKalb County | Fulton County)
Tuesday, November 5: Election day
Tuesday, December 3: Run-off election, if necessary
WHAT DOES THE CITY COUNCIL DO?
The City’s policy-making authority is given to a governing council (City Council) consisting of fifteen members. The City Council’s primary responsibilities are adopting ordinances, adopting the budget, and setting policy for the City. Working hand in hand with Atlanta’s Mayor and the members of the executive branch, the council plays a key role in the budget process and financial well-being of Atlanta.
